So, it’s carnival time already, what better way to say goodbye to summer and hello to autumn than dancing your blues away with the Notting Hill Carnival?
Running on Sunday and Monday here are a few tips:
Sunday’s carnival starts at 9am and is Children’s Day. Monday is Adult’s Day and starts at the same time. Both days finish around 9pm.
The parade normally starts on Great Western Road and heads Chepstow Road, Westbourne Avenue and Ladbroke Grove.
Organisers advise that you head to watch on the southern part of the route, as northern parts get very congested. (See here for a map)
Ladbroke Grove Tube is closed on Sunday and Monday.
Westbourne Park and Royal Oak are exit-only from 11am-6pm.
Notting Hill Gate is exit-only from noon-7pm on Sunday and noon-6.30pm on Monday.
Arrange a meeting point with your mates in case you get separated.
There’ll be lots of people knocking into you – beware of pickpockets.
But most of all – ENJOY!
Nearest Tube: Westbourne Park, Royal Oak and Notting Hill Gate.
