New Podcast!

Exciting news – I’ve decided to start recording a podcast for you all!

Seeing as the radio show is finished/on hiatus this is the next best thing I could come up with.

So, each week, I’ll give you a quick round-up of the best stuff on offer around London for the weekend and week ahead. I’ve called it the 10 Minute Take-Away – because it’s meant to be quick and easy for you to digest, and will always be 10 minutes or under.

As this is the first attempt, I’d love to know what you think….

Salute the Saltire

Happy St. Andrew’s Day to all our Scottish readers!

To get those final celebrations in, check out the following:

Head down to the St. Andrew’s Day Fair at the Fleming Collection on Berkeley Street (nearest tube: Green Park).  Scottish designers will be selling their wares – ideal for stocking fillers!  Entry is free (although there’s a £3 optional donation).

Whilst you’re there, why not take a look at ‘The Face of Scotland‘ exhibition, which is a collection of paintings and photos of Scotland’s most famous faces, including Mary Queen of Scots through to Ewan McGregor.

Singing and sipping

For something completely different, head down to St. Martin in the Fields, to hear The Medici Choir celebrate St. Andrew’s Day in words and music.  The concert starts at 9:30pm and tickets start at £6.

If you’re looking for something a bit livelier, View London has a good list of Scottish bars, restaurants and places of interest.

Enjoy ma wee hens!

(If anyone else has any other tips, please leave a comment below to let everyone know!)

Sweet as Pumpkin Pie

To all our American readers (and those of you who just want to get involved): LondonLovelies wishes you a very merry Thanksgiving holiday!

Last year, I was up in the Catskills region of New York state, celebrating with friends round a home-made Thanksgiving dinner.

Not all of us can be so lucky this year, so if you’re still looking for somewhere to eat, Time Out has done a good ‘best Thanksgiving meals‘ feature you should check out.

The Diner, which I’ve mentioned before, is also doing a Thanksgiving menu, and View London also have a helpful list on other places to go if you’re stuck for ideas.

Whatever you decide to do, have a great holiday! x
