Exciting news – I’ve decided to start recording a podcast for you all!
Seeing as the radio show is finished/on hiatus this is the next best thing I could come up with.
So, each week, I’ll give you a quick round-up of the best stuff on offer around London for the weekend and week ahead. I’ve called it the 10 Minute Take-Away – because it’s meant to be quick and easy for you to digest, and will always be 10 minutes or under.
As this is the first attempt, I’d love to know what you think….
Here’s another fun weekend activity for all ages. This weekend Mint Polo in the Park is taking place in Hurlingham Park.
The event starts on Friday, June 4 and continues until Sunday, June 6 – which will see the final of the competition kick off at 2:30pm.
It’s not just about the polo matches – there are cheerleaders to watch, stunt riders and Medieval knights .
Tickets are from £20 (going up to £45 depending on which day) and can be bought from TicketMaster.
The Hurlingham Club is a Private Members Club – so this is a good chance to get inside and have a look round!
Nearest Tube: Putney Bridge or Parson’s Green
If the sunny weather is making you dream of foreign climes, this could be your lucky weekend!
Thailand at Trafalgar Square is a celebration of the SE Asian country, and this Saturday, June 5 sees all sorts of Thai treats hit town.
There’ll be a parade, Thai dance, Thai Boxing and traditional Thai music all happening on stage. As well as all that, there’ll be lots of tasty food and drink to try out.
The event kicks off at 12pm in Trafalgar Square and is free to enjoy.
Nearest Tube: Charing Cross, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus
Ever watched the rugby and thought ‘I wonder what it’s like to look up from the pitch?’
Well, now you can get yourself down to Twickenham AND get cheered for your effort. It’s all part of the National Family Week Sports Day at Twickenham Stadium – which includes a ‘Run for their Lives’ 5k run in aid of the Future Hope home and school, which gives Calcutta’s street children real hope for the future.
The run will finish on the famous rugby pitch and make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable children in Calcutta. Youngsters at Future Hope play rugby in Harlequins sponsored kit, even in the monsoon, and their Under 16s recently became All India champions.
Want to Get Involved?
It’s all happening this Saturday, June 5. The run starts at 1pm, with a warm up from Virgin Active Classic Health Club trainers. You can register on the day from 11:30am or in advance by emailing email@example.com
